Craig

Craig was born and raised in Long Island New York. 

A veteran of over 15 years in the financial services industry Craig first traveled Asia in 2007 during a 4 month stint between jobs. As an avid hiker, cyclist, and photographer Craig was hooked by the vibrant landscapes and incredible diversity of cultures that he experienced during his first trip to Asia.

Upon returning to the corporate world Craig decided a career change to the field of education would enable him to pursue a more meaningful career and his desire for further travel. Craig received his Masters Degree in Education from Dowling College in December of 2010 and completed his requirements for his New York State Teaching License soon after. He since has merged his passion for teaching and travel by accepting a position with Omeida Language College in beautiful Yangshuo China.

Craig looks forward to long bike rides through the beautiful countryside with camera in tow while in Yangshuo. His main focus while in China will be to learn about his students and their lives in China while helping them to achieve their goal of improving their English. 

Regarding my teaching philosophy: Craig believes in using the guided practice teaching method.Craig introduces real life topics to the classroom through reading and discussion with students. He then identifies and defines key vocabulary. Students then practice using new vocabulary through exercises and games. As a final check for understanding Craig has students produce a working knowledge of new vocabulary by writing sentences and utilizing new vocabulary in discussion. Craig encourages students to express their opinions and practice their English as often as possible in and out of the classroom.

 来自美国纽约，待人热情，热爱教育、旅行和摄影，他有着15年多的金融管理经验，第一次中国之行，他就被中国生机盎然的景色及博大精深的文化所吸引，随后他作出了一个他的教育生涯改变，决定继续深造学习，获得纽约道林大学文学硕士学位，同时获得了美国国家教师资格证，在美国教授历史知识。他的英语充满激情且口音清晰，他的教学生动易懂且实用性强。他带着对教育事业及旅行的满腔激情来到了座落于有着秀丽风景的阳朔欧美达，他将热衷于在帮助学生实现英语突破目标的同时，了解他的学生及他们在中国生活的种种。关于教学，Craig把生活的实际带入教学当中，积极引导学生阅读和讨论，他善于引导学生把学过的单词运用在讨论当中日常生活中。Craig 总是鼓励学生，融学习于生活中。 

 Craig擅长商务英语教学，这是他与IBC(中级商务班)的老师和同学们在水果拼盘中的合影。这个老师和学员们倾力合作的作品，获得了学校水果拼盘大赛的3等奖。 

 Craig 一个很积极，认真负责的好老师，每次学校的social night，都少不了他活跃的身影。他总是能成分调动学生的积极性，鼓励学生多说英语。

 Craig酷爱摄影，擅于捕捉精彩瞬间，他用摄影诠释美好未来。在学校活动，Craig 经常会用他的相机来记录学生的优秀表现，捕捉永恒的瞬间。

在一次文化交流中，Craig 在与湖南某大学外语系的学生亲切交流，鼓励学生多说英语。
